A Perfect Fit, Guaranteed.

We hope you never need this information but in life and in business, things happen, and we will always do our best to make things right and give our clients confidence when working with Tailor Cooperative!

Our Commitment

At Tailor Cooperative, we stand behind our “Perfect Fit Guarantee” - a promise to work with you to perfect your custom clothing and ensure you are thrilled with your Tailor Cooperative wardrobe, whether it is a Made-to-Measure creation or Ready-to-Wear item.

Made-to-Measure (MTM) Alteration Policy
Our MTM clothing requires post-production adjustments for an ideal fit, offered through complimentary alterations within 30 days of home delivery. Requests for alterations can be made by emailing concierge@tailorcooperative.com. After this period, alterations are available at standard retail pricing.

If alterations cannot achieve the perfect fit, we offer a complimentary fit reassessment and remake, ensuring the highest standards of fit and quality. If our clothier makes an error in design or measurement, a complimentary remake is provided. However, if a garment becomes unwearable due to client-incurred wear and tear or significant weight change beyond what we address with alterations, a remake is offered at 40% off. In cases of remakes, the original garment remains with us unless purchased by the client at half the retail price.
Made-to-Measure (MTM) Remake Policy
In the rare event that the necessary fit adjustments cannot be achieved through alterations, Tailor Cooperative offers a complimentary fit reassessment and remake process. During the assessment, our experts will re-evaluate your measurements and preferences to identify necessary adjustments to your pattern. We will then create a new piece tailored to your requirements, ensuring the highest standard of fit and quality. This approach underscores our commitment to providing a personalized and exceptional Made-to-Measure experience for every client.

When it comes to the many aesthetic choices that go into your MTM garment, our clothiers are here to offer professional advice, guiding you through every step of the process to ensure you love your design choices. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the design choices of your custom clothing, we are committed to working with you to redesign and remake the piece to better suit your preferences. In such cases, you have the option to purchase a redesigned remake at 50% off the retail cost. If an error is made by our clothier in selecting the correct design elements for your Made-to-Measure clothing, TC will provide a complimentary remake.

Occasionally, situations arise beyond the control of Tailor Cooperative that can render a garment unwearable. If a garment becomes unwearable due to damage incurred by the client, significant weight change, or similar circumstances, and cannot be made wearable through alterations or repairs, we offer a remake in the same fabric (or similar) at 25% off the retail price. Design changes will not be offered in these cases unless at the clothier’s discretion. If a re-measurement is necessary, the cost of re-measuring the client is included in the price of the remake. Any upgrades in fabric or design selection will be paid by the client prior to production of this elective remake.
Made-to-Measure (MTM) General Policies
In the case of a remake, the original garment becomes property of Tailor Cooperative, and the client will retain only the newly remade item. If, for any reason, the client wishes to keep the original garment as well, they have the option to purchase it at a 50% discount off the original retail cost. Our goal is to offer flexibility and value, making sure each client feels completely satisfied with their Made-to-Measure experience.

If a production rush is required as a result of an elective client remake, any rush fees will be covered by the client to ensure timely delivery of remade garments.

If a production rush is required for  a remake due to clothier or TC quality control error, any rush fees will be covered by Tailor Cooperative to ensure timely delivery of remade garments.

Occasionally, fabric outages/restocking issues or other delays related to the supply chain do occur in the world of custom clothing. We will always keep you informed about any delays as soon as we become aware of them. We cannot offer refunds or order cancellations related to timeline extensions resulting from fabric outage/restocking issues.

In the unfortunate and rare event of a missed deadline due to production issues/fabric outages/etc, reparations will be handled on a case by case basis at the discretion of the General Manager or Shop Manager.

Made-to-Measure clothing that is unclaimed for 90-days or more does not qualify under TC’s “Perfect Fit & Design Guarantee”. Any alterations or remakes will be at the customer’s cost due to the fact that the items have been neglected for 3 months or more and the client may experience significant shifts in body shape or size or aesthetic preference during that time.
Ready-to-Wear (RTW) Alterations Policy
RTW suit purchases include complimentary alterations for trouser hem and jacket sleeve length to ensure a perfect fit off the rack. Additional adjustments are offered at retail alterations cost.

RTW shirts do not include any complimentary alterations however, adjustments are always available at retail alterations cost to ensure a great fit for our clients.

All RTW clothing from Tailor Cooperative comes with a 30 day Fit Guarantee on complimentary alterations once the garment is taken home. This period allows you to wear and experience your new garment in various settings, ensuring it meets your expectations for both fit and comfort.

If adjustments are needed, submit your request within 30 days via email to concierge@tailorcooperative.com or book an alterations appointment with your personal clothier.

Outside the 30-day complimentary period, we're happy to work on all TC clothing for retail alterations pricing.
Ready-to-Wear (RTW) Return & Refund Policy
RTW clothing can be returned for a refund (60% cash or 100% store credit) within 30-days of your purchase, however, should any alterations beyond the complimentary pant hem and jacket sleeve length be performed on the garment, the item is now considered custom and can only be returned for store credit.

Please note that we will not cover the cost of return shipping should your item be eligible for a return and need to be shipped back to us at our SLC store.

The policy encompasses all pre-ordered items from a collection or clothing drop.

To be eligible for a return and refund, the item must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered and undamaged.
Craftsmanship Warranty
Tailor Cooperative garments (MTM & RTW) are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 90-days after the items are taken home.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper care, normal wear and tear, or accidents (stains, rips, snags, etc).

The following are considered “Normal Wear & Tear”:
  • Fabric Fading: Colors fade over time due to washing, dry cleaning and exposure to sunlight. Regular dry cleaning will age your fabric quickly - please be advised!
  • Material Thinning: Areas that are frequently subjected to friction, like elbows, knees, thighs and seat of pants, may become thin and worn over time.
  • Pilling or Fraying: Formation of small fabric balls or breakage of threads on the surface of fabric due to rubbing or abrasion caused by a client’s particular wear habits (i.e. wallet in inner jacket pocket frays the lining). Pilling or Fraying that seems premature (i.e. in the first few wears) should be brought to the shop for assessment.
  • Loose Threads and Buttons: Threads may loosen and buttons can come off or be broken after repeated use and washing or dry cleaning. TC can help reattach or replace broken buttons for retail alterations cost.
  • Stretching or Shrinking: Natural fibers like cotton and wool may stretch out or shrink slightly with normal washing and wearing.
  • Minor Stains and Discolorations: Small stains or color changes that occur gradually from regular handling and exposure to the environment.
  • Slight Misshaping: Items may lose their original shape or contour slightly, especially after many cycles of washing, dry cleaning and wearing. We can often reshape the garment, please bring it in for us to assess, however, we cannot guarantee a perfect re-shape.
  • Split Seams: Seams are designed to split before the fabric tears. If you experience a split seam, please bring it to our alterations department for a quick and complimentary repair.
  • Larger Tears: Larger fabric tears need to be evaluated individually to determine their causes and ensure appropriate, effective solutions. Tears resulting from extremely slim-fitting garments are a possibility. Clothiers will advise on this during the fitting process, and such issues are not the responsibility of Tailor Cooperative.
These signs of wear are excluded from warranty coverage because they result from expected use rather than manufacturing defects or poor quality materials. Please don’t hesitate to contact TC if you have any questions or are unsure whether any issues that arise fall within our Craftsmanship Warranty Policy.

In the case of an approved warranty claim within the 90-day period, clients are entitled to a complimentary alterations repair or, if repair is not possible, a complimentary replacement with an identical or similar item.
